Network

MovieBox says "website unavailable" or "refused connection"

The main MovieBox domain periodically gets rate-limited in specific ISPs and regions. Three fixes, in order: (1) clear MovieBox app cache (Settings → Apps → MovieBox → Storage → Clear cache); (2) switch networks — toggle mobile data on/off or try a different Wi-Fi; (3) if it persists 10+ minutes, fall back to an older MovieBox build from our old version page.

Fire Stick

"App disabled" popup keeps appearing on Fire Stick

Amazon periodically runs a compatibility check that flags sideloaded apps. Stop the popup loop: (1) Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications → MovieBox → Force Stop; (2) Settings → Preferences → Privacy Settings → Collect App Usage Data → OFF; (3) reboot Fire Stick (unplug 10s). MovieBox now launches without the disable banner.

Fire TV

"App not installed" error on Fire TV

Leftover files from a previous install block the new one. Clean reinstall: (1) fully uninstall MovieBox (Manage Installed Applications → Uninstall, then clear data first); (2) reboot Fire TV; (3) use Downloader to fetch the APK again — crucially re-download, do not reuse the old file; (4) install. If it still fails, free up at least 500 MB of storage and retry.

macOS

Works on iPhone and Google TV, freezes on Mac

Confirmed Safari-on-Mac regression. Switch to a Chromium browser — Chrome, Arc, Brave or Edge all play MovieBox without freezes. If you must use Safari, disable Safari's hardware acceleration in the Developer menu (Experimental Features).

Quality

Auto resolution is stuck on a pixelated low setting

MovieBox's Auto mode prioritises buffer stability over quality. To force full quality: open any title, tap the gear icon in the player, change Quality from Auto to ORG (original) or a fixed 1080p. The first 10-20 seconds buffer more, then playback stays at full quality for the rest of the title.

Catalog

Specific shows missing (e.g. "Can't find Euphoria")

MovieBox's catalog changes weekly as licenses expire and reappear. Try both the exact title and a shortened variant, check "Coming Soon" for titles that recently de-listed; worst case, use an older build from our old version MovieBox page — they hit different caching nodes.

Payment / subscription issues (MovieBoxPro-specific)

Why does MovieBox keep crashing on older Android phones?

The latest v3.x build expects Android 8+ and 3 GB RAM. On older devices switch to MovieBox v2.0.83 from the old version page — it is the lightweight build specifically for Android 5-7.

Is MovieBox down globally or just for me?

If both the app AND the web player fail from multiple networks, the backend is genuinely unreachable for you — usually a regional routing issue resolved within a few hours. If only the app fails, clear cache first.

How do I update MovieBox without losing my library?

Install the new APK on top of the old one — Android merges the installs and the local library, watch history and downloads are preserved. You only lose data if you uninstall first.
